Spring energized seals are high-performance sealing elements designed for extreme operating environments where both conventional rubber seals and metal gaskets fall short. With a metal energizer spring inside a PTFE (or modified polymer)/UPE/PEEK U-shaped jacket, these seals provide consistent contact pressure, excellent media compatibility, and long-term reliability.
They are particularly suitable for dispensing machine, precision equipment, micro-stroke pistons, high- or low-speed systems, and severe vibration conditions.

Working Principles
The U-shaped PTFE jackets of spring energized seals house a precision energizer spring—ribbon, helical, cantilever (V-spring), U-shaped, or advanced pitch coil design.
The spring ensures continuous radial or axial sealing force by:
Compensating for wear of the sealing lip
Adapting to slight eccentricity of mating surfaces
Maintaining consistent sealing performance under temperature fluctuations
Supporting operation with or without lubrication
Applications
Spring energized seals are ideal for:
Dispensing machine
High-speed rotating systems
Low-speed or micro-stroke piston systems
Cryogenic equipment
Semiconductor production
Compressors & vacuum pumps
Food and pharmaceutical machinery
Hydraulic & pneumatic cylinders
Aerospace and defense systems
Chemical processing equipment
Medical devices

FAQ
Q1: Can these seals be used for dispensing machines?
Yes, the low friction, no stick-slip, and precision sealing performance make them ideal.
Q2: Can they run without lubrication?
Yes. Many PTFE-based materials operate dry with minimal friction.
Q3: Can you make custom sizes?
Yes, diameters from 3 mm to 1600 mm can be produced.
Q4: Do they work at cryogenic temperatures?
Yes, down to -250°C.
Q5: What media are they not compatible with?
Soluble alkali metals, high-temperature fluorine, and chlorine trifluoride.
